Add and manage reminders

RemindersAll platforms

Reminders notify you at a set time, or when data meets a condition you choose — for example "gold falls below your price" or "take your medicine at 8 a.m.". Checks run on your device, not on our servers.

Some tools can also notify you right away from their own servers when something happens. These are server notifications and need your separate permission in the tool — see "Server notifications from tools".

There are three ways to add one:

  1. On the dashboard, touch and hold a widget and choose Add reminder. Only widgets that support reminders show this option.
  2. Tap an "Add reminder" button on a tool's page.
  3. Open Me › Reminders, tap "+" in the top-right corner, and pick one from your installed tools.

Each time, a confirmation sheet opens first and shows when and how the reminder will notify you. It only takes effect after you set it up and confirm. Some reminders can be set to go off just once, on a date and time you choose.

A tool can't add reminders for you, but it can remove its own — for example, when you complete a to-do, its reminder is removed.

Managing reminders: in Me › Reminders, use the switch on the right of each reminder to turn it off or back on. Open a reminder to edit its parameters (its history is kept), choose which days it repeats, or change its level (Quiet, Standard or Important — Quiet makes no sound and shows no banner). Reminders that check data also offer Check now. You can delete a reminder here too.

Under each tool's reminders, Reminder level limit caps how intrusive that tool's reminders can be. Anything above the cap is sent at the cap.

When an Important scheduled reminder appears in the app, tap Skip today to silence it for the rest of the day.

LimitsEach tool can have up to 20 reminders and send up to 30 notifications a day. At most 5 of those can be Important; any more are sent as Standard. Quiet reminders don't count. Anything not sent because of a limit is marked in Me › Reminders.
