A widget shows no data or just "--"

Common issuesAll platforms

First, check what the widget shows:

  1. "Credential needed" or "Expired — reconnect": it's waiting for you to connect an account. Tap it to connect. See "What does "Credential needed" mean?".
  2. Gray placeholders that shimmer: data is loading. Give it a moment.
  3. It shows --: the data arrived, but this item has no value right now, for example while the market is closed.
  4. "Couldn't load · Retry" or "No connection": the widget hasn't got any data yet, and this attempt didn't work either. Check your network, then tap it to try again. It shows "Retrying…" while it tries.
  5. "Paused": you have more widgets than Free keeps updating. See "Free and Pro".
  6. "Widget removed" or "Tool no longer available": see "A widget says "removed" or a tool is missing".

If the widget had data before, a failed update adds no marker; it keeps showing the last data. Touch and hold the widget to see "Update failed · last success …" at the top of the menu.

To try again right away, touch and hold the widget (right-click on Mac and Windows) and choose "Update". On phones and tablets you can also pull down on your dashboard. If it keeps failing, the data provider is usually temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

Your device gets the data directlyNumable's servers aren't involved in getting data. A failed update usually comes down to your network or the data provider, and we can't fetch or restore the data for you.

If one widget never gets data while other widgets from the same tool work fine, let us know from Me › Feedback.
