My home screen widget isn't updating

Common issuesAll platforms

Home screen widgets don't stay connected all the time. The system decides when they update, based on things like battery level and how often you use the app. So a home screen widget showing slightly older data than the app is normal.

Check this firstOpen the app and look at the same widget on your dashboard. If it's up to date in the app but not on your home screen, it's just a matter of timing. If it's out of date in the app too, see "A widget shows no data or just "--"".

Try these in order:

  1. Open the app once, then go back to your home screen. The widget will update along with it.
  2. If you deleted the widget it shows from your dashboard, the home screen widget asks you to choose a widget. Follow the prompt to pick another one.
  3. On Android, open Me › Background refresh and follow the steps to lift the system's battery limits.

On Free, up to 2 home screen widgets keep updating. Any more show "Free includes 2 home screen widgets". See "Free and Pro".

iOS allocates updates based on how often you use an app, so opening the app regularly helps its widgets stay up to date.

Service widgets on HarmonyOS update differently. See "HarmonyOS: when service widgets update".

If you've tried all of the above and the widget still hasn't updated for a long time, send us a screenshot from Me › Feedback.
